Going To Church For A Sense of Belong vs. Worshipping In Truth
A believer asks if they should go to church for fellowship, for the kids’ sake…. It might not be apparent at first, but worshipping in spirit and worshipping in truth are the lamb on the altar of the desire to belong.
We have to realize….
It is a legitimate and basic need to belong and to be loved and to have fellowship!!
However, many (including churches) have preyed on this humble need of people to have fellowship, and to feel a part of something bigger than self, for a very long time.
There is Great News!!
We all DO belong somewhere very special…. I’ll share that soon.
And, we need to be where we are supposed to be…. on the narrow path.
And, there are others on that narrow path, as well….
We are NOT alone!!
Although we may not know them…
They are on the same path of
the way, the truth, and the life
of the Mashiach.
So, we can be of great courage.
Recently, a Facebook believer friend asked this question: What do you think about attending church just for fellowship? If not for yourself, what about for the sake of your children? We’ve been in our area about a year, yet we still know hardly anyone. We’ve been praying about attending a church, but so far I have not heard a clear answer and have not met anyone who shares similar beliefs.”
First of all… I understand the angst this believer sister has, as a parent, in wanting her children to have fellowship.
I understand how she feels…. I’m married to:

Between us, we have ten children (though three of them live under their mother’s rule and we permitted to speak with them…
Long story short… according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons (and daughters) of disobedience, Ephesians 2:2)…
these children were stolen from their father by an evil legal system.
As a family, we live in Hawaii, having moved here with seven children eight months ago.
So, we can really relate with this mom…. We’re also in a new place and we haven’t met many people, yet, either.
Most of our children (the youngest four living with us) are attending private christian school.
Charity Christian Academy (https://charitychristianacademy.org) is receptive to Hebrew Restoration Families
and the changes that we must require in order for our children to know truth and walk in truth).
Our children….
have wise hearts that receive righteous instruction in the Word of YaHuWaH….
have met a couple friends online, playing games….
go to the local beaches….
get exercise….
have serving hearts…
are gaining skills that will serve them well in life…
have some farming experience….
take trips with family….
But, for the most part…
Nevertheless, we see our children are lonely and want friends.
Even some of our young adult children feel separated out, lonely and like they don’t fit in, or…
Perhaps they have two good friends, at the most.
Most adults don’t have many true local friends, either…. Maybe a couple…
At least, as adults, we have more opportunities, in general, to meet people.
But, even with that, friends are few and far between and very precious jewels.
This desire for fellowship lives not only in parents’ hearts, but in their children’s hearts, as well.
I also know in my heart, all Hebrew children of each of the twelve tribes should live in close proximity, where they grow up, together.
That was the ideal. That is how it was SUPPOSED TO BE!!
Tucked Away In Niches
It seems the Father, while waking us up to truths previously unknown by His people, has many believers tucked away. We didn’t even know who we are, until approximately the last ten years. It was then:
the Father began this great revival of restoration of knowledge…
……….Meanwhile, evil has also been busy!!
And, evil just loves to attach its subtle deceptions to truth.
Anyhow….
That’s the only way deceptions can exist….
By attaching to truth.
That’s why mixing with pagan practices is so dangerous!!
It’s IDOLATRY!!
And, so….
We have to be VERY CAREFUL!!
Year in and year out…
The world has become farther and farther away from…
the ideals the Father set for us in His Word…..
and as far as one can get from the garden of Eden experience….
and so far from worshipping in spirit and worshipping in truth.
But, We’re in Allegiance With YaHuWaH!!
As parents, in allegiance with YaHuWaH and obliged to rear up His children to keep His commandments,
we protect our children, as well as teach them what YaHuWaH says they are to be taught.
That includes:
worshipping in spirit and worshipping in truth.
Having expressed my compassion for what this believer sister is going through…. Here are my thoughts…
IF the assembly is not walking in truth, then the question is flawed…. It is pairing a legitimate need with an illegitimate answer to that need.
It is as if the question is really asking: Is it okay for me to fellowship with this church… even though I know some of what they believe or profess is not right, because my children need fellowship, and I need to feel included in something of a unity? Because of our needs for belonging not being met, is it okay for my family to attend this church to get our needs for fellowship met in a place were they don’t believe or profess to believe all of what I now know to be true?
IF this is the situation (and I do not know that it is, but I suspect that it is this situation)….
We’ve got worshipping in spirit, worshipping in truth on the altar, being sacrificed for our desire for fellowship for our children and ourselves….
It’s like having a malnutrition and starving toddler, and opening a package of donuts and chocolate milk for breakfast, and a bag of chips with a soft drink for lunch, followed by chicken nuggets, fries, a chocolate shake and a happy meal toy for dinner, day after day.
Fellowship and belonging ARE LEGITIMATE and NECESSARY NEEDS…. But, there’s more to come. There’s the right path to take. I’ve written about it below….
You’ve got to get a visual of this… For this visual, call this particular sacrificial lamb ‘truth’ and the ‘Ruach HaQodesh (aka ‘Holy Spirit’) that comes as our Comforter (The Ruach HaQoDeSh is our Comforter, not the church), and to teach us truth.
We simply cannot sacrifice worshipping in truth for our desire to belong to a group of believers under the authority of a church system.
Nor can we hold onto things we believe to be true, but have not yet searched out to know that they are truth.
It is quite dangerous going along with a crowd of those not holding their leaders accountable…
Not SEARCHING the SCRIPTURES, as the Bereans did with the teachings of Paul.
We must be a people found to be worshipping the Father in spirit and worshipping in truth.
Some day YaHuWaH will come for His children and gather them from among the nations.
His Word says He will gather us!!
The gathering will be so great no one will speak of the exodus from Egypt any more. (See Jeremiah 16:14,15).
What Shall We Do, Then?
Here’s some of what we are told to do with our children.
First, we dedicate them to our ELoHiYM, YaHuWaH, and we cause His Name to be put upon them through this BeRaKaH (aka ‘blessing’). BaRaK means ‘to bless’:
Numbers 6 says this:
23‘This is how you BaRaK the children of Yasharel. Say to them:
24“YaHuWaH (יהוה) BaRaK you and guard you;
25YaHuWaH (יהוה) make His face shine upon you, and show favour to you;
26YaHuWaH (יהוה) lift up His face upon you, and give you peace.” ’
27“Thus they shall put My Name on the children of Yasharel, and I Myself shall BaRaK them.”….
We must also teach our children to guard all the laws and commands of YaHuWaH,
so that our days be prolonged. That is part of worshipping in spirit and worshipping in truth.
Deuteronomy 1 says this:
“And this is the command, the laws and right-rulings which YaHuWaH (יהוה) your Elohim has commanded,
to teach you to do in the land which you are passing over to possess,
2so that you fear YaHuWaH (יהוה) your Elohim, to guard all His laws and His commands which I command you, you and your son and your grandson,
all the days of your life, and that your days be prolonged.
3“And you shall hear, O Yasharel, and shall guard to do, that it might be well with you,
and that you increase greatly as YaHuWaH (יהוה) Elohim of your fathers has spoken to you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.
4“Hear, O Yasharel:
YaHuWaH (יהוה) our Elohim, YaHuWaH יהוה is one!
5“And you shall love YaHuWaH (יהוה) your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might.
6“And these Words which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart,
7and you shall impress them upon your children, and shall speak of them when you sit in your house,
and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up,
8and shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
9“And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates….
Exodus 15:26 says this:
26And He said, “If you diligently obey the voice of YaHuWaH (יהוה) your Elohim and do what is right in His eyes, and shall listen to His commands and shall guard all His laws,
I shall bring on you none of the diseases I brought on the Mitsrites, for I am YaHuWaH (יהוה) who heals you.”
Obedience is part of worshipping the Father in spirit,
and worshipping in truth.
We must teach our children to obey the Father.
Here are ten commandments, and this chapter includes two promises for us.
Exodus 20 says this:
1And Elohim spoke all these Words, saying,
2“I am YaHuWaH (יהוה) your Elohim,
who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim,
out of the house of slavery.
3“You have no other mighty ones against My face.
4“You do not make for yourself a carved image,
or any likeness of that which is in the heavens above,
or which is in the earth beneath,
or which is in the waters under the earth,
5you do not bow down to them nor serve them.
For I, YaHuWaH (יהוה) your Elohim am a jealous El,
visiting the crookedness of the fathers on the children to the
third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
6but showing kindness to thousands,
to those who love Me and guard My commands.
7“You do not bring the Name of YaHuWaH (יהוה)
your Elohim to naught
[vain emptiness],
for YaHuWaH (יהוה) does not leave the one unpunished
who brings His Name to naught.
8“Remember the Sabbath day, to set it apart.
9“Six days you labour, and shall do all your work,
10but the seventh day is a Sabbath of YaHuWaH (יהוה) your Elohim.
You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter,
nor your male servant, nor your female servant,
nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
11“For in six days YaHuWaH (יהוה) made the heavens and the earth,
the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.
Therefore YaHuWaH (יהוה) blessed the Sabbath day and sanctified it..
12“Respect your father and your mother,
so that your days are prolonged upon the soil
which יהוה your Elohim is giving you.
13“You do not murder.
14“You do not commit adultery.
15“You do not steal.
16“You do not bear false witness against your neighbour.
17“You do not covet your neighbour’s house, you do not covet your neighbour’s wife,
nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey,
or whatever belongs to your neighbour.”
And a few verses later, YaHuWaH said:
24b In every place where I cause
My Name to be remembered
I shall come to you and bless you.
It’s very important that we restore Hebrew to our children’s lives and teach them the original language the Father spoke to us in, and left His Word for us in… In this way, without the translator errors we are drawing closer to the Father’s heart by searching His truth in the pure language.
Zephaniah 3:9 says:
Languages Cause Confusion:
Worshipping in Confusion is not worshipping in truth.
Let me give you an example, very pertinent in Hawaii, right now, where we live.
In Hebrew, PeLE (same as PaLeO) is an adjective that means:
wonderful, wondrous, marvelous, difficult, miraculous; to distinguish (as in Paleo Hebrew, for instance).
It’s the word the Messenger told Samson’s parents about his name before he went up into the fire:
“Why do you ask me my name, seeing that it is PeLE?”….
In Hebrew, it’s a word used to tell that our Messiah would be the Wonderful Counselor…
It is not a name, but an adjective, in Hebrew.
In Hawaiian, however, it’s a noun, and it means:
LAVA.
Yet the Hawaiian people, and many of the people who moved here and have picked up the pagan polytheistic Polynesian worship,
call upon PeLe, giving this word the personification of a feminine lava/volcano deity.
There’s ample evidence Hawaiians came from the ten northern Hebrew tribes, and many of the Hawaiians are aware of this.
Yet, through the generations of these ten northern tribes, they (like us) lost the Hebrew language.
The people in Hawaii don’t understanding the origin of this word, nor its real meaning.
And, just like YaHuWaH said, when their ancestors (just like our ancestors) disobeyed Him and broke their covenant to Him…. their ancestors (as well as our own ancestors) scattered into other lands and served foreign mighty ones………
And, here we are today… Either we’re coming out of pagan deity worship and out of mixtures, and we’re worshipping in spirit and worshipping in truth….
OR WE’RE NOT!!
Where Did The Word Church Originate?
- Where did the word, ‘church’ come from? Not from the original Hebrew or Greek languages…
Why go to a church for fellowship when the very word ‘church’ originates from yet another pagan deity who is reported to have powers to overcome people?……
What About ShaBaT? Does It Matter When ShaBaT Is?
Here’s another question to ponder: Have you researched when the ShaBaT is?…
The world keeps man’s calendar, but YaHuWaH uses His own calendar, and taught His people His calendar when He brought them out of Egypt.
Because, you sure should not join a fellowship unless you know when the ShaBaT is and that they also understand when the ShaBaT is. Until people study this out, it’s just…
the blind leading the blind….
Most churches meet on the day of the sun. Research Constantine and the Council of Nicea on that.
Jews, as well as many others who first come out of the churches, keep fri. night through saturn’s day to saturn’s night. This is seemingly a natural progression from the sun. day’s worship. But, don’t stop there. That’s a place to catch your breath on your way up to the mountain top of pure truth. It’s not the end goal. It’s still on the pagan papal Gregorian calendar on which we were raised.
YaHuWaH’s Word tells us the moon is made for MoW’ADiYM (Hebrew for appointments), including the ShaBaT.
Did you know…
The moon gives her light… (see Matthew 24:29)…
…..for 28 days each month?
Psalm 104:19: He made the moon for MoW’ADiYM (appointed times); The sun knows its going down.
Do you keep new moon? New moon is the time when the moon is dark. This takes from one to two days. It’s never three or four or more days, no matter what others might say. New moon is a third category of day. It’s neither a work day, nor a ShaBaT.
Does your potential new fellowship keep new moon?
YaHuWaH commanded in the Scriptures new moon is to be observed, and Isaiah foretold it will be kept in the future, as well.
Isaiah 66 says this:
23“And it shall be that from New Moon to New Moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me,” declares יהוה.

Well, What About When Does A Day Even Begin?
This is important, because you have to know if ShaBaT starts at evening or dawn or at noon or at midnight, or whenever….
Have you researched when a day begins?
I recommend World’s Last Chance on Youtube, but there are others.
The day begins at dawn. Research it. The Scriptures prove it.
These are very important questions to answer before choosing an assembly, as we are commanded the activity of worshipping in spirit, and worshipping in truth.
Who Controls The Sheep?
Another question… is the church you would consider training your children in and getting their fellowship and friendship and sense of belonging from led by one of these institutions?
How would you go about investigating if any of these groups control your current or future church?
IF they do… I submit you’ve laid worshipping in spirit, and worshipping in truth on the altar so that you can have fellowship, friends, and a sense of belonging and unity, WHETHER you know it or not.
Here’s some more questions to ask yourself:
- Are you teaching your children they are part of the ten northern tribes of YaShaRAeL? This is A HUGE and foundational question… This is where you and your children belong… part of YaShaRAeL… ten northern tribes being prepared to serve the Father. See Identity Crisis by James Staley.
- Have you restored the name of YaHuWaH in your home? YaHuWaH never calls Himself G-D. That is a pagan deity of fortune from Babylon. Strongs H1408, 1409. And, He never calls Himself LORD. THAT was an identity thief, a bait-and-switch deity.
- Does the potential fellowship read from restored name scriptures? Any others have swapped out the real names for pagan ones…
- Does your fellowship go by the word, ‘church’?
- Does your fellowship call on the Name of YaHuWaH, and not use the pagan name, G-D?
- Has your fellowship researched and restored the Calendar of YaHuWaH?
- Does the moon determine their ShaBaT (because the moon determines all the appointments of YaHuWaH… Psalm 104:19 and Lev. 23:3,4, and Gen. 1:14-16 tells us so)…
We want to encourage you. Research all these matters… Come to the conclusion of the matter BEFORE picking some assembly to throw your hat in with.
My recommendations:
I don’t recommend going to any organized fellowship until you study these things out on your own (with one caveat… at the end of this post)… Indeed, I would not go to any fellowship where the whole truth is not being taught. If YaHuWaH’s Ruach (His ‘Spirit’) has taught you some truth already, and opened your eyes to a truth a fellowship does not walk in, how could you, in essence, go backward and deny the truth for the sake of fellowship?
Teach your children at home until you find a fellowship that teaches truth, meets on the real ShaBaT, and answers to no controlling organization between the teacher and YaHuWaH. For, what benefit is it to join in with a group who is not walking in all truth?….
Should you DECIDE you’re going to join a fellowship… whether you’ve heeded my other suggestions or not…. the moment you are shown more truth than what the leadership teaches, or the moment you’re sure you are being prompted to leave…
MOVE ON!!!….
The onus is actually on us, the parents, to teach our children YaHuWaH’s Word and to give them truth.
You would not plant your personal garden with genetically modified seeds…
Nor would you, ideally, treat them with pesticides that would harm your family when they consumed them.
Therefore, you don’t want to take your children anywhere that they will not learn to rightly divide the Word of YaHuWaH,
as well as worshipping in spirit and
worshipping in truth…
Don’t sacrifice truth on the altar of affection for your children or the altar of fellowship or the altar of unity or the altar of needing to be loved and to be a part of something larger than yourself.
You CAN have all these things, but still be in fellowship with
believers who ARE walking in the narrow path of truth.
Unity in lies and disinformation will not bode well for the longevity of your children’s belief system. Half truths are half lies. Part truths are the other part lies.
The lies won’t sit well, in the long run, with your children, if they are wanting truth.
The time will come when it’s the end of the world as we know it.
YaHuWaH is preparing His people, His kind ones. They may be withdrawn a bit from the rest. You may notice them moving to or living in rural farming areas.
It’s best we prepare our children for survival as believers, while worshipping YaHuWaH in spirit, worshipping in truth.

Are you teaching your children the Name of the Father? This is so very important for them. If they call upon YaHuWaH, He promises to show them great things formerly unknown to them (Jeremiah 33:2,3).
