Why should I call this a lost sheep Yom Kippur, you might ask? Well, I’ll tell you.
As a result of my christian upbringing and church-teaching, I learned: “Yom Kippur is for the Jews. That’s a Jewish festival.” But, that’s not scripturally true.
I also didn’t learn THIS TRUTH, that Gentile is a GoWY (גוי: ‘goy’). A GoWY (a Gentile person) lives among the nations and keeps not the everlasting covenant of YaHuWaH. This truth is not taught in most christian churches. They also don’t teach that we are learning to disobey YaHuWaH’s commandments in church, rather than obedience.
There’s lots of other things we didn’t learn that were true…
And, there’s other things we learned that are not true.
But, when I got older… The Father showed me that we, as the Gentiles, and as the christians, are the lost sheep of the House of YaShaRAeL. We are the ones the Messiah came for. And, His Word says He came only for the lost sheep of the House of YaShaRAeL. So, look yourself in the mirror and say, “So, I heard you are from the lost sheep of the House of ‘Israel’? Is it true?” If YaHuWShu’A saved you, it’s true. He came to call you back to Him.
Today, that seed of YaShaRAeL spread the whole world over, due to their scattering throughout the Earth. And, we have this in common with everyone, that all the families are blessed because of the Seed of ABRaHaM. Yet, all sheep have gone astray, turned every one to his own way.
So, for my Gentile/christian friends seeking favor with the Father, today, I share with you YoWM HaKiPuWRiYM, day of the covering. I share it for you, as what I’m calling the ‘lost sheep Yom Kippur’.
Taking the Hebrew Scriptures as authority, we see in WaYiQRA (‘And He called,’ is the meaning of the real name of the book, but we know it as ‘Leviticus’), chapter 23 http://biblehub.com/isr/leviticus/23.htm:
1And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
2“Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, ‘The appointed times of יהוה, which you are to proclaim as set-apart gatherings, My appointed times, are these:
3‘Six days work is done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a set-apart gathering. You do no work, it is a Sabbath to יהוה in all your dwellings.
4‘These are the appointed times of יהוה, set-apart gatherings which you are to proclaim at their appointed times.
So, in our ‘lost sheep Yom Kippur’ research, we have with just four short verses dispelled the falsehood that these are Jewish concerns. This chapter SPECIFICALLY STATES that these are appointed times of YaHuWaH.
Further, please note that in this chapter 23 of WaYiQRA are the commands upon the people for all the appointments of YaHuWaH His people (who He calls His sheep) are to keep.
Repentance is not for the Jews (brother YaHuWDaH) only. Also, the right to return in repentance belongs to the ten northern tribes known as the House of EPhRaiYM (aka ‘the Gentiles,’ the House of YaShaRAeL’, ‘the House of Israel’). In fact, it is for all 12 tribes, and all their descendants. For all who have lived like lost sheep Yom Kippur has been commanded that we participate.
26And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
27“On the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. It shall be a set-apart gathering for you. And you shall afflict your beings, and shall bring an offering made by fire to יהוה.
28“And you do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before יהוה your Elohim.
29“For any being who is not afflicted on that same day, he shall be cut off from his people.
30“And any being who does any work on that same day, that being I shall destroy from the midst of his people.
31“You do no work – a law forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
Today (known on the Gregorian calendar as Sept. 29, 2017) is YoWM (/day) 9 of the 7th month. The Jews call this month Tishri. However, the Hebrew scriptures call it EThaNiYM, and this means ‘perpetual flowing’.
The Jews have their own traditions and falsities to come out of, as do all other religions.
The only way we can know what YaHuWaH wants us to do is to read His Word, and study His Word, and learn to rightly divide the truth from the deceptions.
The Hebrew word for fast (‘INiYTeM (עניתם sounds a little like anytime… anytim): means an answer, a response, and a testimony, as well as to be afflicted, to be bowed down, to be humbled, to be meek, often expressing harsh and painful treatment; to be exercised; frequently expressing the idea that ELoHiYM sends affliction for disciplinary purposes.
According to the Strong’s Concordance, in the day of Atonement observance, “to humble oneself” is probably connected with the requirement of fasting on that day (Lev. 23:28-29).
Sometimes, I get the feeling that many who call themselves christians use excuses (such as ignorance, and won’t study the truth) and twist things to suit their own agenda. Few would probably sign up to fast even one day for YaHuWShu’A, though He subjected Himself to 40 days of fasting. And, so did MoSheH (aka ‘Moses’). But, the renewed covenant that Jeremiah speaks of in chapter 1 is that the ToWRaH is written on the people’s hearts… And what people, by the way? YaHuWaH makes the covenant with the House of YaShaRAeL (Jer. 31:33).
As christians, there’s lots of deception to come out of, and lots of truth to know. The prescription is to have a repentant heart, a heart that returns to the Father. The prescription includes hearing and doing the Word, just like YaHuWShu’A said.
The ‘lost sheep Yom Kippur’ begins this evening (the evening of the ninth day). This appointment of YaHuWaH is for His lost sheep… those who have wandered away from the Father’s way of life for them. That includes all of us, those who know we have failed the Father and ourselves and our neighbors and our children, and who are now hungry for the day of the Father’s covering, Yom Kippur (or more appropriately, YoWM HaKiPuWRiYM), the day of being properly aligned with the Father. We are hungry for His covering, so HUNGRY that we reject the feeling of fullness in our bellies that comes from eating food.
32‘It is a Sabbath of rest to you, and you shall afflict your beings. On the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you observe your Sabbath.”
ShaBaT: that means return, rest. From what are we returning? From being soiled by the world and our flesh, we return to the Father.
The lost sheep Yom Kippur appointment with YaHuWaH and fast goes on from this evening until tomorrow evening (the evening on the 10th day of the month, and it will be Sept. 30, 2017 on the Gregorian calendar).
(YaHuWaH did not submit Himself to live by the pagan papal calendar on which we were all nursed. For more on how to restore the calendar of YaHuWaH, see http://www.creationcalendar.com).
I think there is a parallelism found here with the passover blood that was required to be put on the doorposts at Passover time (and later, a MeZuWZaH was put on the doorpost with YaHuWaH’s commands, and also, of course, YaHuWShuW’A is our Passover lamb).
Those who performed what YaHuWaH required with the lamb’s blood, and ate the Passover lamb, were spared the death of their first born. They went on to eat required unleavened bread for a week, which also begins the night of the Passover meal. This passover lamb is chosen on the 10th day of the first month.
Then, six months later, as the year has turned to take us back to the beginning of months for us, we are commanded to ‘INiYTeM/fast on the evening of the 9th day and all day on the 10th day.
In the month of Passover, there was a covering of blood by the sacrificial Pesach lamb. Consequently, this was followed by deliverance of the people from an earthly oppressor who had dominion over them. And, because the people obeyed YaHuWaH at this time, He passed over them and did not strike their first born.
Again, YaHuWaH is telling His lost sheep Yom Kippur is the day to receive yet another covering, so do this to affliction on this appointment. YoWM HaKiPuWRiYM is another day of covering…. except this one is KNOWN, in its original language, as the day of covering.
It’s possible that evil may take lawful access to harm or destroy us at this time, unless… YaHuWaH, as prescribed for us, meets with us on this day of the covering. And, on this day, He covers us from consequences of our sins.
He can overpower the territories in our lives where we have allowed evil to overtake us.
For instance, in the story of Job… What if…
Sa(T)aN went before YaHuWaH and sought permission to attack Job on this day?…
And what if that was able to happen because Job did not fast during the lost sheep Yom Kippur, the day of covering?
And what if that is the way it could happen every year, based on the outcome of our participation or lack thereof on this day?
The Word of YaHuWaH shares the BLESSINGS for obedience, with regard to the everlasting covenant of YaHuWaH. It also shares the CURSES for disobedience.
Those can be found in Lev. 26 and Deut. 28.
http://biblehub.com/isr/leviticus/26.htm http://biblehub.com/isr/deuteronomy/28.htm
I never thought of it like that before. But, that’s the kind of attack I see being a possibility. Prescribed by the Father, perhaps this day of covering prevents the Adversary from gaining legal and spiritual access to destroy us.
Consider these:
Prayer helps.
Confession helps.
Asking forgiveness helps. Give and receive forgiveness to every avenue available to you to do so.

This is a great piece of instruction and scripture. However, be it known that Lev. 23 says the fast starts on the evening of the 9th day, not the 10th, evening to evening. I think I borrowed this image from brother Robert-Aaron R..
It’s wise to know that the day begins at dawn. This is just one scripture that proves it.
34“Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the Festival of Booths for seven days to יהוה.
35‘On the first day is a set-apart gathering, you do no servile work.
36‘For seven days you bring an offering made by fire to יהוה. On the eighth day there shall be a set-apart gathering for you, and you shall bring an offering made by fire to יהוה. It is a closing festival, you do no servile work.
37‘These are the appointed times of יהוה which you proclaim as set-apart gatherings, to bring an offering made by fire to יהוה, a burnt offering and a grain offering, a slaughtering and drink offerings, as commanded for every day –
38besides the Sabbaths of יהוה, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your voluntary offerings which you give to יהוה.
39‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you gather in the fruit of the land, observe the festival of יהוה for seven days. On the first day is a rest, and on the eighth day a rest.
40‘And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of good trees, branches of palm trees, twigs of leafy trees, and willows of the stream, and shall rejoice before יהוה your Elohim for seven days.
41‘And you shall observe it as a festival to יהוה for seven days in the year – a law forever in your generations. Observe it in the seventh month.
42‘Dwell in booths for seven days; all who are native Yisra’ĕlites dwell in booths,
43so that your generations know that I made the children of Yisra’ĕl dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Mitsrayim. I am יהוה your Elohim.’ ”
44Thus did Mosheh speak of the appointed times of יהוה to the children of Yisra’ĕl.
Today if you hear His voice, do not turn away. Today may be the day you begin keeping the appointments of YaHuWaH.
If not now…. there is always this day:
Finally, I hope this has been a blessing to you. If we can help you with restoring the things the Father is opening up to you, please let me know. Leave a message for me. ShaLoWM and may you have a wonderful lost sheep Yom Kippur appointment with YaHuWaH.
